Description
The Toyota MR2 Spyder is a compact mid-engine roadster, and this kit changes the one thing everyone notices first: the doors open up instead of out. It is engineered specifically for this chassis rather than adapted from another car, and it fits all trims of the MR2 Spyder and MR-S from 1999 through 2007. The part number is VDCTOYMRS0007.

The hinges bolt directly to the factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is fully reversible, so the car can go back to stock doors down the road. The hardware is hardened steel, made in the USA, and the hinge design is patented here. One thing to know before ordering: VDI has moved this application to special-order status because demand is limited, so allow a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks before it ships, and special-order kits are nonrefundable and cannot be exchanged. When the kit arrives, we recommend having a professional shop handle the install, working from the instructions supplied with the kit.
