Description
At its core this is a hinge swap: the kit replaces the Silverado’s stock door hinges with a pair of Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo hinges, so each door opens normally and then pivots up and out of the way. The hinges mount to the factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is reversible, so the truck can go back to stock later. It fits all trims of the Chevrolet Silverado from 1988 through 1998, under part number VDCCHEVYSILVER8898.

One thing to know going in: GM trucks of this era left the factory with welded-on hinges, so the install calls for some drilling and tapping. The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented here as well. An instruction manual comes with the kit, and we recommend having a professional installer do the work with that manual in hand.
